The Wildcat channel bottom twin is the second model released under the Velocity Project, developed and refined with team riders and close collaborators before being made available for wider audience. The Wildcat combines a clean, refined aesthetic with a timeless outline while delivering the modern performance characteristics central to the entire range.
The bottom contour is smooth and relatively flat, promoting efficient paddle speed and early acceleration as soon as you’re on your feet. A continuous single-to-double concave transitions into a subtle V through the fins, finishing with four channels extending through the tail. This configuration enhances rail-to-rail transition, increases hold through the bottom turn, and improves responsiveness to subtle weight shifts, while maintaining flow through softer wave sections and supporting speed through turns.
The outline blends classic and contemporary elements, featuring a wide point positioned slightly forward of center, a moderately full nose, and a traditional single wing rounded pintail. The wing combined with the pintail works in harmony with the channel system to balance drive and maneuverability, enabling both quick, pivoted turns and longer, drawn-out carves.
The nose features a refined beak shape, allowing additional thickness under the chest area to improve paddle efficiency and keep the board sitting higher in the water. The rails are shaped with a modern shortboard feel, refined with reduced foam for added sensitivity, bite, and control.
For sizing, it is typically recommended to go one to two inches shorter than a standard Daily Driver, slightly wider by half an inch to one inch, and with a touch more overall volume.
The combination of speed, flow, and accessible performance makes this design highly versatile across a wide range of conditions and suitable for surfers of varying styles.
