Developed through extensive team testing and countless sessions in the water, the Precious joins the Velocity Project series as a refined evolution focused on performance versatility.
The step-railed, concave-deck Precious was originally conceived in response to a request for a true one-board quiver capable of handling a wide range of waves around the world. The concept behind it was a single board solution - “one board to rule them all” - which ultimately inspired the name Precious.
The design takes its foundation from the Gremlin, known for its speed, versatility, and playful nature. From there, it was refined into a more performance-oriented outline, featuring reduced width and more refined rails for a sleeker, higher-response feel.
To maintain usable volume while improving sensitivity, the design incorporates a step-deck construction. This allows the board to retain foam where needed while delivering a more responsive, high-performance rail line. The step-deck also creates a natural concave in the deck, enhancing stability, increasing sensitivity underfoot, and contributing to additional paddle power.
Built on Gremlin DNA, the Precious features a lower overall rocker with a flatter entry and a subtle tail curve, promoting easy acceleration, speed generation, and sharp, responsive turning. The outline is more refined and narrower than the Gremlin, yet it continues to carry speed through softer, weaker sections, maintaining flow and effortless glide.
A single to double concave bottom contour provides lift and drive without compromising rail-to-rail transition, while a pronounced V through the wide tail block makes rail engagement smooth and intuitive, even at higher speeds. The result is a board that paddles easily, gets into waves early, and delivers a lively, responsive performance across all conditions.
The Precious can be ridden slightly shorter or longer depending on surfing ability, typically a few inches above or below rider height. Adding ½” to 1” in width is recommended, with sizing based on volume rather than thickness, as the concave deck can make the board appear thinner than its actual floatation suggests.
It can be configured as a thruster, quad, or 2+1 setup, offering a wide range of tuning options to suit different waves and surfing styles.
