The Gromlin is a versatile board suited both to surfers just beginning to catch their own waves and to progressive groms looking for a playful alternative when conditions are softer or less powerful. Drawing from the Ghost DNA, it sits as the step-down counterpart to the Phantom, featuring added volume in a shorter, wider, and flatter-rockered outline built for rapid acceleration, effortless glide, and strong paddle power.
Designed to bring energy to less-than-ideal surf, the Gromlin also delivers a taste of Funformance that keeps sessions engaging across a wide range of conditions.
Its fuller outline is paired with a low entry rocker to promote easy speed and smooth glide through weaker, slower sections, while a more pronounced tail rocker maintains performance orientation and enhances maneuverability.
The bottom contour transitions from single to double concave, finishing with a subtle Vee through the tail, balancing drive, release, and control.
This combination results in a board that paddles easily, gets up to speed quickly, and still retains a snappy, responsive, high-performance feel, allowing surfers to maximize every wave.
More advanced surfers will typically ride it 4-6 inches shorter than their height, unlocking its full performance potential, while intermediate surfers will generally prefer a length closer to their own height.
It also works as an ideal transition board for beginners moving off a longboard (or other larger boards) toward a more FUNformance design. Regardless of length, it is intended to be ridden wider and thicker than a standard shortboard.
