The Ghost Pro is a more refined and performance-oriented evolution of the Ghost. Thinner, narrower, and featuring more pinched rails, it is designed for surfers seeking very high performance, or for those who prefer riding the Ghost with a little extra length without significantly increasing the volume.
The Ghost is widely regarded as one of the first true High Performance surfboards capable of delivering exceptional results for surfers of every skill level. Designed as a versatile one-board quiver, it’s perfectly suited for surf trips with anything from fun to solid wave conditions. Over time, it has become one of JJF’s trusted favorites across a wide range of waves - from powerful Margaret River conditions and Bells sections to carving lines at J-Bay and even overhead Trestles - while earning a strong following among surfers worldwide.
Initially created for hollow, powerful surf, the Ghost has proven itself equally effective in reef breaks, punchy beach breaks, and long-running point waves.
Developed from the Short Cut platform, the Ghost features a more refined outline. The wide point remains slightly forward of center for paddling efficiency, while the nose is kept streamlined and the tail subtly pulled in, allowing the board to fit naturally into tighter curves and steeper pockets.
Volume distribution is shifted forward to improve paddle power and make wave entry easier. At the same time, the tail and rails are foiled out to maintain sensitivity, control, and hold during fast turns and critical barrel sections.
The rocker profile stays medium-to-low through the front half, helping the board accelerate quickly and glide into waves with ease. Additional curve through the tail delivers turning precision and lively responsiveness. A continuous single concave runs throughout the bottom, blending into a double concave between the fins to create speed, lift, and smooth rail-to-rail transitions, even through flatter sections.
By combining balanced rocker with an efficient concave configuration, the Ghost delivers a High Performance feel with an ideal mix of responsiveness, speed, and control.
For sizing, the Ghost can be ridden anywhere from your own height up to 8 inches longer than usual, typically paired with 1/4" to 1/2" extra width and 1/8" to 3/8" added thickness compared to your everyday shortboard.
