PYZEL CUSTOM ORDER PROGRAM

WORLD CLASS DESIGN, HIGHTECH CONSTRUCTION, YOUR CUSTOMIZATION

From blank to spray, PYZEL allows you to customize your board with detail. Build the board of your dreams on our Custom Board Builder (CBB) and receive it at home or pick it up at one of our partner stores. It's simple, really: just select an option from every category in the side menu. Our CBB will display how the board will look in real time, step by step. Start by choosing the model you want to buy. Your board will be built based on the outline of that model. Move on to choosing the technology/construction you want your board to be constructed from. Options are:

BOARD DETAILS

PU (Polyurethane):

This is your most common standard stock surfboard. A shaped Polyurethane (PU) blank with a plywood stringer traditionally glassed using a polyester resin. Most of our boards are built using this foam. It is great for everyday use and has performance in all types of conditions, wave sizes and levels of surfer.

EPS (Expanded Polystryene):

A shaped EPS blank with a plywood stringer traditionally glassed using epoxy resin. It is typically the lightest of all the foams used in surfboard construction resulting in increased paddling speed and manoeuvrability in small waves. EPS foam core is also known for its great durability. Overall it makes a stronger, longer-lasting, better flexing board. We recommend EPS technology with our small wave models.

Now let us know the size, the width and the thickness of your board. Take a look at our Recommended Stock Measurements before jumping into a final decision. This is a guideline from what the model was built off so you don't go customizing your board too much and ending up changing its original concept. We recommend selecting the length you want and this will auto-select the width and thickness as per our stock recommendation. From here move down to the next option and adjust the width and thickness according to what you think fits you best.

Move on to choosing the tail type. Each model was designed with specific tail shapes in mind. Changing this will change the way the surfboard performs. However, if you would like to experiment, feel free to choose a different tail option. Select the fins system, the fins number and the fins option you want on your board. Let us know how light/heavy you want the fiberglass on your board to be by selecting an option from the Glassing category:

Ultra light (4/4)

This is a very light glass job, one layer of 4oz glass on the deck and one layer of 4oz glass on the bottom. This makes the board light and fast. However, this also means the boards durability won't last like the other options. Performance over durability for this option.

Stock (4+4/4)

This is what we recommend when ordering your board. Two layers of 4oz glass on the deck and one layer of 4oz glass on the bottom. It is not too heavy and it is not too light, it is just right!

Reinforced (6+4/4)

This glass job definitely makes the board stronger, but also the extra weight of the cloth adds weight to the board. Two layers on the deck made up of 1 layer of 6oz glass and 1 layer of 4oz glass, then on the bottom is one layer of 4oz glass. We recommend this option if you are surfing waves of consequence or you are heavy footed and tend to dint your boards or simply want durability in your boards.

Heavy (6+6/4)

Recommended by us for the ordering of our Step-Up models. Two layers of 6oz glass on the deck and one layer of 4oz glass on the bottom. Great for big surf and heavy waves.

Move on to choosing how you want your board to be glassed. Options are:

Traditional glassing:

Your board is glassed traditionally using polyester or epoxy resin (depending on if it’s a PU or EPS blank).

Vacuum Glassing (Dark Arts construction only):

The board is compressed inside a nylon bag filled with absorbent materials, and the resin and fiber layers are laminated under the pressure caused by the vacuum. This constant pressure results in extra compact fiber and a lighter board (up to 400 grams lighter).

Select the reinforcement patches you want on your board:

Carbon tail patch

used to strengthen the tail area, most affected by foot pressure and impact. Usually added after fiberglass to wrap around the tail and prevent the rail/tail from crushing or denting severely (commonly known as “tail cancer”).

Now it’s time to consider and decide the last details on the look of your board. We have pre-set logo positions for each model but, you are free to try them out and create the perfect layout for your custom board

Choose a pre-set spray or suggest one of your own liking by sending us the art file. We are sure our painting team will be up for the challenge!

Lastly, let us know the name you want on the stringer. It’s very simple: whatever your write in here, we will write on the foam down near the dimensions and it will be there to stay!

Finish your order and we will take it from there!
