The Pyzalien 2 - A Versatile Choice for the One Board Quiver
The Pyzalien 2 reimagines a highly regarded design, refining the DNA of the original Pyzalien model while enhancing its versatility and performance.
Built around a distinctive wide point forward outline, the Pyzalien 2 features extra width through the nose and a volume distribution pushed toward the front. Intended to be ridden shorter and wider than a standard shortboard, it maintains enough volume to generate speed and flow in softer, weaker surf while delivering a responsive performance feel.
Adaptable across a broad range of conditions - from point breaks and reef breaks to beach breaks - the Pyzalien 2 combines accessibility with high-level performance. Its balanced rocker profile includes a medium-low entry rocker transitioning into a medium+ tail rocker, creating a smooth, controlled ride with excellent responsiveness.
The bottom contour starts with a single concave through the nose and beneath the front foot, flowing into a double concave and finishing with VEE through the final section of the tail. This configuration enhances release, promotes fluid turning, and supports quick rail-to-rail transitions while maintaining control at higher speeds. The rocker and bottom design work together to generate effortless acceleration directly from take-off.
Its outline remains streamlined and uncomplicated, free from hips or wings, pairing a fuller nose with a broader tail to maximize speed, drive, and smooth projection through flatter sections.
A key evolution from the original design lies in the more domed deck and refined rails. Recommended sizing is to keep your usual thickness while choosing dimensions approximately 1/4" to 1/2" wider and 2" to 3" shorter than your regular shortboard. The board comes standard with a clean swallow tail, adding extra liveliness, release, and sharper response.
